How to Block in WWE 2K22

Block those attacks!

To block in WWE 2K22, press and hold Y (Xbox) or Triangle (PlayStation). Blocking can reduce the damage of incoming light, heavy, and running attacks.

After blocking an attack, you can counter with a move faster than the opponent will be able to, so blocking at the right time can give you an opening to get an attack off quickly.

Blocking is not effective against grapple attacks, weapon attacks, Signature Moves, or Finishing Moves. However, the defense system in WWE 2K22 has been revamped, so there are many more options to stop an opponent's attacks.

Players can dodge, block, reversals, or pull off Breakers, which are counters for grappling and combos. Strategy and good timing will be very helpful when defending against attacks and launching your own after.
