There will be 14 maps available for XDefiant at launch, some of which are derived from various Ubisoft games and others being completely original. They are:

Arena Maps

Arena maps are traditional PvP maps you see in popular FPS games but with a bit of Ubisoft's touch-up. These are generally small which makes for some action-packed combat. There are a lot of places to take cover on these maps if you're more of a hide-and-seek kind of player.

  • Arena
  • Attica Heights
  • Dumbo
  • Echelon HQ
  • Emporium
  • Liberty
  • Mayday
  • Nudleplex
  • Pueblito
  • Showtime

Progression Maps

The Progression Maps are bigger with different areas. Bigger maps mean there are a lot of ways to change up your playstyles as there are a good number of cover and peek points in these. The different areas of the maps can be unlocked by completing a certain objective or checkpoint.

  • Meltdown
  • Midway
  • Times Square
  • Zoo

All Game Modes in XDefiant

  • XDefiant Domination mode
  • XDefiant Escort mode
  • Xdefiant Hot Shot mode
  • XDefiant Occupy mode
  • XDefiant Zone Control mode

There are five types of game modes available in XDefiant, which are divided among the Arena and Progression Maps in the game:

Domination

In Domination, players will have to capture three zones set around a map while engaging in an intense gunfight. Every second your team holds a zone, you'll rack up some important points that can help you win.

Escort

In this mode, you and your team will have to push a payload from one point of the map to another. One team will guide the payload to the end point while the other team will try to slow their progress. Teamwork and strategy are key here in this modern tug-of-war, so you must work together to come out victorious.

Hot Shot

Players will need to collect tokens from eliminated players in the Hot Shot mode. The player with the most tokens is targeted on the map for the opponent team (i.e. the ''Hot Shot''), but they also get a handy movement boost to make use of. There's definitely a bit of risk involved for the targeted player, but the rewards are even greater as the team with the most tokens wins.

Occupy

In Occupy, opposing teams will fight each other for control of a specific zone on a map. The zone changes periodically to different areas of the map which will certainly keep everyone on their toes. It's similar to Hardpoint, with the highest-scoring team as the winner.

Zone Control

With this mode, it's self-explanatory as opposing teams clash over controlling zones in different areas on a map. Once a zone is captured, one team will need to launch a proper attack while the team that captured it will need to defend it like never before. As always teamwork and strategy are essential here, because you may get overwhelmed by juggling the zones. Capturing all zones within an area will open up a new area with more zones; the winner is decided by who has earned more points capturing the zones.
