XDefiant is finally here, and the online shooter is facing quite a few server issues at launch. Despite the game's beta testing and final launch, players are not able to access game modes due to its server status. If that happens to be the case with you, here's how you can check the server status.
Is XDefiant down?
Yes, XDefiant is down at the time of writing (2:01pm ET on May 21, 2024). While players can login to the game and start searching for a match, the lobby remains empty no matter how long you wait. As such, this seems like some sort of server-side issue, without the servers being offline entirely.
The game's Unranked as well as Ranked modes seem to be appearing in-game, but won't let players connect. This is a technical problem at Ubisoft's end, and a fix will likely arrive in some time. Until then, the website is taking any other queries or complaints you may have with XDefiants.
In the meantime, once you have preloaded the game, restart the game and connect to a new match. Logging out and signing in again could help too.
Checking XDefiant server status
You can check the server status by heading to the XDefiant Support page. Here, you'll be able to find the server status for each individual platform -- PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. At the time of writing, the site is reporting that the servers are fine, but players are seemingly unable to play a match.
This may be due to the fact that the servers are still technically online, even if there are issues preventing players from, you know, playing the game. We'll update this post once we've got more to report.
