The much-anticipated Season 2 update for XDefiant adds new maps, weapons, operators, game mode, and cosmetics to the first-person shooter. After the recent weapon balancing patch, here are the meta loadout builds for some of the best guns to use right now.
Best XDefiant Season 2 Meta Loadouts
Unlike Call of Duty where meta guns are essential if you want a competitive edge over your enemies, XDefiant keeps things fair by making sure the weapon stats are balanced. No matter what weapon you choose to play with, you'll have a fun time, unless you're using Shotguns (they feel powerless). Having said that, below are my top picks for guns that feel good in Season 2 with their loadout builds.
1. AK-47 Loadout
Barrel | Lightweight Barrel |
Front Rail | Small Vertical Grip |
Magazine | Fast Mag |
Rear Grip | Quick Draw Grip |
Stock | Lightweight Stock |
The classic AK-47 Assault Rifle is the most reliable weapon in XDefiant and the go-to choice of many players including me. The optimal time-to-kill (TTK), decent mobility, great accuracy, and clean iron sights are the reasons I like this gun. For this build, I've used attachments to boost the weapon's mobility and handling stats (such as ADS speed).
2. PP-19 Loadout
Barrel | Lightweight Barrel |
Front Rail | Small Horizontal Grip |
Magazine | Fast Mag |
Rear Grip | Quick Draw Grip |
Stock | Removed Stock |
PP-19 is the newest weapon added to XDefiant with Season 2 and it's growing on me pretty well. In fact, it's the best SMG in the game right now thanks to its top-tier mobility and damage. The fast movement, ADS, and strafing speeds can be achieved by equipping the attachments listed above. For the magazine, I prefer the Fast Mag over Quick Mag as the minor ADS speed penalty is nothing compared to the massive reload speed improvement with the former.
3. MDR Loadout
Barrel | Heavy Barrel |
Front Rail | Vertical Grip |
Optic | Reflex Sight |
Magazine | Extended Mag |
Rear Grip | Quick Draw Grip |
The MDR Assault Rifle has never been my first weapon choice in XDefiant until Season 2. The weapon has received some significant buff that puts it up there with the likes of AK-47 and ACR (discussed later). While the Vertical Grip improves recoil control, the Quick Draw Grip helps with ADS speed. The key attachment, however, is the Heavy Barrel that gives the MDR an extra 5 percent damage.
4. MP7 Loadout
Muzzle | Barrel Extender |
Front Rail | Superlight Grip |
Magazine | Quick Mag |
Rear Grip | Quick Draw Grip |
Stock | Collapsed Stock |
The MP7 Submachine Gun continues to dominate with its superb mobility, handling, and fire rate. What it lacks in range can be recovered to some extent by the Barrel Extender muzzle. The remaining attachments focus on further strengthening the gun's agility prowess, which allows you to zoom past enemies.
5. M16A4 Loadout
Barrel | Rapid Fire Barrel |
Front Rail | Tactical Grip |
Optic | Reflex Sight |
Rear Grip | Quick Draw Grip |
Stock | Lightweight Stock |
You can never go wrong with everyone's favorite burst-fire Assault Rifle in XDefiant: the M16A4. It's undoubtedly the weapon with the best accuracy and control as the burst shots are concentrated with a minor horizontal deviation; the Tactical Grip front rail and Quick Draw rear grip help with that. Make sure to use the Rapid Fire barrel for the fire rate boost.
6. ACR 6.8 Loadout
Barrel | Lightweight Barrel |
Front Rail | Small Vertical Grip |
Optic | Reflex Sight |
Rear Grip | Fabric Grip |
Stock | Folded Stock |
The ACR AR is not going anywhere and players are still using it extensively as I have noticed in my recent playtime. The attachments in this build are similar to what we've used with the AK-47. I've simply replaced the fast reload mag with the clean Reflex Sight optic as I don't like the iron sights on this weapon.
7. P90 Loadout
Barrel | Lightweight Barrel |
Front Rail | Superlight Grip |
Magazine | Quick Mag |
Rear Grip | Quick Draw Grip |
Stock | Padded Stock |
If you're tired of using the MP7, the P90 SMG is the perfect replacement for it after the Season 2 update. The gun received some changes that make it better and it now is a top-tier, high-mobility killing machine. The attachments here are standard for an SMG and enhance the movement speed and ADS time of the P90.
8. L115 Loadout
Muzzle | Muzzle Booster |
Barrel | Lightweight Barrel |
Optic | Variable Zoom Scope (4x-8x) |
Rear Grip | Fabric Grip |
Stock | Padded Stock |
The list of best loadout builds in XDefiant Season 2 would be imperfect without a Sniper Rifle recommendation. Players like sniping every once in a while and for that, I suggest using the L115. The attachments used here will help you with the ADS speed and stability. As for the optic, you can stick with the default one or use something like the Variable Zoom Scope (4x-8x) or CQBSS (8x).
9. M60 Loadout
Barrel | Lightweight Barrel |
Front Rail | Superlight Grip |
Optic | Reflex Sight |
Magazine | Quick Mag |
Rear Grip | Fabric Grip |
Although I don't often run across players using Light Machine Guns in XDefiant, I wanted to mention at least one weapon from this class for interested players. The M60 is pretty good when it comes to damage output, however, it lacks mobility and reload speed as an LMG. Therefore, the attachments used here improve these stats to some extent so the gun feels less sluggish.
10. MP5A2 Loadout
Barrel | Lightweight Barrel |
Front Rail | Superlight Grip |
Magazine | Fast Mag |
Rear Grip | Quick Draw Grip |
Stock | Lightweight Stock |
PP-19, MP7, and P90 are better SMGs than the MP5A2, but this gun is still in the mix. You can give the mobility-focused build I've shared above a try and see for yourself. Use the MP5 when playing for fun and rely on the aforementioned counterparts while playing competitively.
