How to clear Mayachine Shrine (A Fixed Device) in Zelda TotK (Tears of the Kingdom)

This definitely will take a while to figure out without our help.

Mayachine Shrine is a simple shrine to beat once you know what you're doing. It's figuring out exactly what to do that makes it one of the harder Shrines in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The only hint that the game gives players can actually be found at the beginning of the Shrine, if you pay attention. Here's how you can clear Mayachine Shrine in Zelda: TotK.

Solution for Mayachine Shrine in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

When players enter Mayachine Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom, they will see the final room locked on the left side. In the middle of the room is a switch that Link can step on, falling spheres, and a huge bullseye in the left corner. The only tools that Link has here are a couple of stakes, a couple of white poles, and a hammer-like object.

It's hard to figure what to do with these, but there is a hint at the beginning of the room: another hammer-like object is there with a stake in it, swinging around a platform. Basically, this shows what Link needs to build—a big bat using the stakes and the poles.

Here is what players should do to create the bat:

  • Grab the two white poles and attatch them together, creating a big pole.
  • Attatch that pole to a stake.
  • Take the stake and rotate it sideways.
  • Push it into the front of the hammer-like object like so:

  • Head back to the switch. There should be an orange pillar right next to it.
  • Hit the pillar. This will cause the hammer-like object to swing like a baseball bat.

  • Do this as the next sphere is coming and it should hit the bullseye.

How to get the hidden chest in the Mayachine Shrine

The hidden chest is also behind a door, this time on the far-right side. After hitting the first bullseye, another one will appear on the right side of the room behind an iron slab. Link will need to swing the bat again, but swing late, so that the sphere gets sent to the right.

When I tested this, I found it best to use the floor as a reference for when to swing. The spheres travel down a long brown floor with a metal crate at the end. Once the sphere reaches this metal crate, it is a good time to swing.
