There is no greater enemy in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom than rain and slippery surfaces. Time and time again, I've tried to climb surfaces only to fall and waste my stamina. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild didn't provide much to prevent this. But thankfully, Tears of the Kingdom has included multiple ways to get up icy and wet walls.
How to Climb up Icy and Wet Walls in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
There are multiple ways to get up surfaces that are wet or icy. Climbing is the most obvious, but you will need help from the Froggy Armor Set or Sticky Elixirs. Alternatively, you can build structures using Ultrahand or using Rewind. Ultrahand lets you build ramps or platforms to get up these walls, or Rewind can help you gain height above them.
Where to get the Froggy Armor Set in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom - Map Location
To get the Froggy Armor Set in Tears of the Kingdom, you must head to the Lucky Clover Gazette and speak to the Traysi in the Tabantha Frontier. This can be found just before the Rito Village Bridge. She will ask you to visit all the stables in Hyrule as part of the Potential Princess Sightings Quest. As you progress in the quest, you will receive all pieces of the Froggy Armor Set. This allows you to climb slippery surfaces with ease.

How to make Sticky Elixir in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
If you need to climb a wet or icy surface and don't have the time to go to each stable, you can use Sticky Elixirs to cling to surfaces like the Froggy Armor Set temporarily. These can be crafted in a cooking pot, but you will need the necessary ingredients. These are:
- Sticky Lizard
- Monster Parts
Sticky Lizards can commonly be found in caves. They can be hard to catch, so use stealth-boosting elixirs and sneak up on them. Any monster part will work, so you can use whichever you prefer, but I prefer using Bokoblin parts, as they are easy to get, and you don't usually need to climb for long periods.
