How to complete Out of the Inn in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)

Oh, come on.

You can find plenty of side quests and adventures in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. One of them is a mission to find a sleepy inn keeper in Kakariko Village. It's called Out of the Inn, and we can help you every step of the way if you are a bit lost, trying to find what you need. Here's a step-by-step walkthrough to help you complete it.

Kakariko Village is a mountain town just north and east of the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower. Makasura Shrine is also very nearby the village, and acts as a great waypoint for fast travel once you've unlocked it. The Inn is at the base of the Village and is indicated on the map above.

Once you enter the Inn and talk to the man behind the counter, you'll find out that he's is not actually the innkeeper. He's just a traveler who got roped in to watching the desk while the innkeeper is away. He asks you to help him find him, says that he is in one of the nearby tent camps, and is a sleepy guy.

The innkeeper can be found at a tent camp on top of some scaffolding high above Lantern Lake. The exact location is indicated on the map above. I used the Makasura Shrine teleport point and my Paraglider to fly across the lake to the location. You'll find the lazy louche is sleeping on top of a sacred stone slab. Tsk!

A bystander nearby will helpfully tell you that he's been unable to awaken the innkeeper, but he keeps muttering something about Hearty Truffles. He'll also point you in the direction of where he spotted some recently, a nearby waterfall.

If you already have a Hearty Truffle in your inventory, you can skip this step, but I don't recommend it. Looking for the Truffle leads to a neat little cave with a Bubbul Gem inside.

Instead of looking at the base of the waterfall, climb to the top. You'll see that the water actually flows from a small cave. To enter, you'll need to press your L joystick to crouch, then waddle your way inside.

As you go through the small cave, you'll find a group of three fairy's that I highly recommend you grab. They will very likely save your life in the future. At the end of the cave, you'll find a broken stalagmite with a Hearty Truffle at it's foot. The Bubbulfrog is also on the ceiling just above this stalagmite.

How to awaken the Kakariko Village Innkeeper in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

You've got your Hearty Truffle, now take it back to the Innkeeper at the encampment. You'll need to hold that Truffle in your hands from your inventory then drop it at the innkeepers feet. Do not eat it! To do this, enter your inventory menu, select the Hearty Truffle, select Hold, then press B to return to the open world. Press A to drop the Truffle.

Once you awaken the Innkeeper, he'll scurry back where he belongs. You can even pick your Truffle back up for later use. Return to the Inn, and you'll find a grateful traveler, who will give you a Long Lasting Sticky Elixir, a new elixir to the sequel that allows you to climb on wet surfaces with ease.
