How to dye clothing & dye shop location in TotK (Zelda Tears of the Kingdom)

I'm just dye-ing to customize my clothes.

One of my favorite features from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the ability to dye my clothes different colors. Although Link is an established character, it felt great to add a personal touch. The Kochi Dye Shop is back in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom—here's where to find it and how to dye your clothing.

You can find the Kochi Dye Shop in Hateno Village, northeast of the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower, at map coordinates 3403, -2143, 0121.

You'll know you're in the right place when you see a building with four dye bottles on the outside: yellow, green, blue, and red. I found it really easily, so you definitely can't miss it.

To dye your clothing in ToTK, head inside the dye shop and speak to Sayge. Then select Dye these clothes to start the dyeing process, which costs 20 Rupees.

You can't pick and choose which pieces to dye, only your entire outfit (if it's dyeable). Select OK! and then choose a dye color. The available dye colors are:

  • Blue
  • Red
  • Yellow
  • White
  • Black
  • Purple
  • Green
  • Light blue
  • Navy
  • Orange
  • Peach
  • Crimson
  • Light Yellow
  • Brown
  • Gray

How to make dye in Tears of the Kingdom

Once you've chosen the color you want, you'll need to hand over five materials of the same color to make the dye. For example, if you want to dye your clothing blue, then Chillshroom, Sapphires, and Blue Lizalfos Tails will work.

I dyed my outfit purple and gave Sayge five Rushrooms in exchange. A fair deal, if I do say so myself! WIth the materials handed over, he will dye your clothing for you.

How to remove dye in Tears of the Kingdom

If you want to revert your clothing back to its original look, you can. Talk to Sayge and select Dye these clothes, and then Back to the original to do so. Hand him 20 Rupees, and it'll be like nothing ever happened.

How to change Paraglider Fabric in Tears of the Kingdom

You can also change your Paraglider Fabric by talking to Sage and selecting Rework the Paraglider if you've unlocked any fabrics. Like dyeing clothes, the service costs 20 Rupees.

I went with the Mirror of Twilight Fabric because The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is my favorite Zelda game (Nintendo Switch remaster, when?).

How to unlock Glider Fabric in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To unlock new Paraglider Fabrics, you can either scan in The Legend of Zelda amiibo or complete certain tasks, such as purchasing armor at Kakariko Village or stabling a horse for the first time.
