How to put the Hylian Hood down in Zelda TotK (Tears of the Kingdom)

Up or down, which will you choose?

Of all the armor in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the Hylian Hood is one of my favorites. It gives Link a mysterious air, almost like he'd sit in the dark corner of a tavern. What makes the Hylian Hood especially cool is that you can raise and lower the hood to customize your style further. However, this isn't as simple as just pressing a button.

How to Lower The Hylian Hood Down in TotK (Zelda Tears of the Kingdom)

To lower the Hylian Hood in Tears of the Kingdom, I had to first head to Hateno Village. Once there, I needed to complete a series of quests. Here are the quests you must complete to unlock the ability to lower the Hylian Hood in Tears of the Kingdom. Make sure you have purchased the Hylian Hood as well.

  • Team Cece or Team Reede?
  • Cece's Secret
  • Reede's Secret
  • A Letter for Koyin
  • A New Signature Food
  • The Mayoral Election

Once you have completed these quests, speak to Cece while wearing the Hylian Hood. She will offer to modify the hood, allowing it to be lowered. You can speak to her again to raise the hood back up. You cannot change the look of the Hylian Hood without speaking to Cece, so you need to return to Hateno Village to raise or lower it.
