The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the first open-world entry in The Legend of Zelda series, and with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom using the same engine, many fans are curious about this game. From all looks and purposes, Tears of the Kingdom appears to continue this new Zelda feature. But it does leave the question if The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is open world?
Does The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom have an open world?
While not confirmed officially, it is almost guaranteed that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has an open world. It shares the world from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which was an open world. This likely means Tears of the Kingdom will be an open-world Zelda title.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom may share the same Hyrule as Breath of the Wild, but there are some notable changes. The most obvious are the floating islands in the sky, giving Link a whole new plane to explore. We don't know how numerous and detailed the floating kingdom is, but it will surely provide a new experience.
We also see what looks to be an underground area, but it is hard to say if this is a linear dungeon, promotional material, or an aspect of the open world that is fully explorable. Regardless of how extensive these new areas are, we look forward to diving back into Hyrule and discovering its secrets in Tears of the Kingdom.
