How to make Lockpicks in 7 Days to Die

To make Lockpicks in 7 Days to Die, you must first unlock the recipe by reading all volumes of The Great Heist Perk books. There are a total of seven volumes in The Great Heist Perk book series, and you can find them by searching bookcases and the following locations: 

  • Newspaper boxes
  • Bookshelves
  • Bookstores
  • Mailboxes

After reading all seven of The Great Heist Perk books in 7 Days to Die, you can make lockpicks inside a Workbench using One Forged Iron and one Mechanical Part. If you don't have Forged Iron, you will need to make a Furnace and melt iron ore you can get from various Iron boulders and Iron ore veins in 7 Days to Die. To get Mechanical Parts, you must use a wrench tool and dismantle objects such as Sinks, Cars, and Air Conditioners

Where to find Lockpicks in 7 Days to Die

If you are still trying to unlock the crafting recipe for Lockpicks, you should locate a few Lockpicks. You can find Lockpicks in 7 Days to Die by searching locations such as Garbage PilesCars, and the following locations listed below:

  • Sedans
  • Suitcases
  • Cars
  • Working Stiff Crates
  • Garbage Piles

You can also occasionally buy Lockpicks for 300 tokens at one of the various traders in your game world. If you don't have any Duke Casino tokens, you can get them by looting cash registers or completing quests from Traders.

How to use Lockpicks in 7 Days to Die 

After you make or find Lockpicks, you can use them in 7 Days to Die to unlock various locked safes by holding down the E key when looking at the safe. Holding the E key will open up a menu where you can press a Picklock option to try and open the safe.

If you want to find Working Stiff Crates in 7 Days to Die to loot in the hopes of finding Lockpicks, you must locate Working Stiff Hardware stores. 

How to make a workbench in 7 Days to Die

To make a Workbench in 7 Days to Die, you must gather a few materials up. But before making a Workbench, you must first unlock it by getting the second level in the Advanced Engineering skill or finding a Workbench schematic. After you unlock the recipe, you can make the Workbench using the following resources:

  • 50 Wood
  • 1 Claw Hammer
  • 1 Wrench
  • 20 Mechanical Parts
  • 25 Forged Iron
