When is The Forge Beta Release Date?
All sources indicate that The Forge beta is scheduled for the beginning of November. That's a logical move, after the 24-hour stress test on October 26, 2025. The Forge Controls - How Combat Works
Below you'll find basic The Forge controls. We'll add more options as we learn more about the game mechanics. Combat is very skill-based, as you have to move and find the best position for attack constantly. You can't parry, so get used to avoiding or blocking enemy attacks.
- CTRL - Shift-Lock
- Q - Dash, use it to dodge enemies and position for attacks
- R or Right Click (in Shift-Lock) - Heavy Attack
- Shift - Sprint
- T - Open Menu
- F - Block, your primary defensive tool since there's no parry mechanic in The Forge
How Does the Mining System Work?
The mining system is the basis of The Forge game progression. You'll be able to find over 60 unique ores that you'll need as gathering materials for crafting. To efficiently mine, you'll need a good pickaxe. They have rune slots, so you can upgrade them, enabling you to mine new pools of ores. Here's how it works:
- Each pickaxe tier unlocks different ore pools
- You cannot simply get lucky and mine rare ores with a basic pickaxe
- To access stronger ores, you must upgrade your pickaxe through progression
- This ensures balanced progression, where rare ores don't make players immediately overpowered
All The Forge Weapon Types List
The Forge currently has three armor categories (helmet, chestplate, and leggings) and nine weapon types, each offering different combat styles:
- Fist - Close-range brawling
- Dagger - Fast, agile strikes
- Straight Sword - Balanced combat
- Axe - Heavy damage dealer
- Katana - Swift, precise attacks
- Great Sword - Powerful two-handed weapon
- Great Axe - Massive damage output
- Colossal Weapon - Extreme power with slower speed
- Scythe - Unique attack patterns
Note: Currently, only swords and melee weapons are available. Magical weapons like staffs are not planned for the initial release. The game features the Dragonslayer weapon, suggesting more anime and movie-inspired weapons will be added over time.
How to Customize Items With Runes
Runes are special modifications that upgrade your equipment. But to even start improving items, you must first find Runes. You can get them by defeating enemies (mobs and bosses), completing quests, and unlocking achievements. Equipment usually has up to three slots for rune upgrades. For now, there are two rune types:
- Elemental Runes: Fire, ice, lightning, and other elemental effects
- Trait Runes: Non-elemental bonuses and special effects
How Progression Works - Level Up Perks
As you progress through the game, you'll be able to level up, which is the main way of making your character stronger and more capable of handling challenges. The most important thing you'll receive when you level up is an expanded inventory capacity. We'll update this segment with more information once we get a chance to play The Forge beta.

How Many Islands Can I Unlock in The Forge?
The Forge will have three islands available at release, each offering unique environments and challenges. To make it easier for you, there will be a fast travel option. Once you gain access to all three islands, you'll be able to teleport between them. World events are planned to add challenges and rewards, keeping the game experience fresh.

There will be player-versus-player combat, but it will be available only in PvP areas, not in the open world. This design choice ensures players can enjoy PvE content without the constant threat of player attacks while still providing competitive combat opportunities.
No, you'll be able to play The Forge for free without feeling left out. There won't be situations where you must pay to stand a chance against others. That said, you'll be able to buy potions and gamepasses, among other things.
Yes, trading is a late-game feature that will be unlocked after significant progression. This ensures players experience the core gameplay loop before engaging in the economy system.
As more content is released, you'll be able to explore dungeons, participate in PvP, complete quests, defeat different enemies, and explore new islands besides the three available at the start.
Each ore type belongs to specific pools that require special pickaxe tiers to access. You need to upgrade your pickaxe to mine stronger ores.
