How to get Weapon Enchantments in Survive the Apocalypse – Weapon Upgrader

The Weapon Upgrader is here, and it really spices up the gameplay!

The Weapon Upgrader is a mid to late game feature that is able to apply enchantments to your weapons. It is represented by a purple square with two white arrows on the map, but has to be repaired before usage. Each enchantment costs 500 skulls, and the possible ones you can get are: Scattershot, Electric, Lethal, Glacial, Forceful, Titanic, Swift, Piercing, Precise and Inferno. The best one is the Forceful enchantment, since its effect is guaranteed to take effect rather than depending on random chance, and it perfectly combines crowd control with a +1 penetration effect.

The Weapon Upgrader machine has arrived at Survive the Apocalypse, and it switches up how the guns work in the game. It does so by applying various enchantments to them, making them significantly stronger than their standard counterparts. However, because there are several steps to using the upgrader and the enchantments themselves are not equally effective, we have created this guide, which thoroughly describes the process you need to complete to use it. We will also give recommendations for what we think the best enchantments are, so make sure to keep reading in order to find out!

How to Repair the Weapon Upgrader in Survive the Apocalypse?

In order to be able to use the Weapon Upgrader in Survive the Apocalypse, you will first have to repair it because it spawns broken on the map. To do this, simply find a wrench and interact with the broken machine by pressing "E" by default.

The Upgrader usually spawns far away from the base, in areas infested by powerful zombies. We thus suggest that you stock up on decent guns beforehand, so that you are able to reach it. The likes of the AK-47 and the Assault Rifle should do the trick. You might also want to consider finding and equipping yourself with a gas mask, as you may have to pass through toxic areas where passage is otherwise impossible.

As you explore the city and expand your minimap, you will know once you have discovered the Weapon Upgrader, as it is distinctly marked on it with a purple square with two white arrows on it. This means you do not have to wander around hoping to stumble into it; you only need to get into its general vicinity, and it will be marked automatically. It will always be inside a brick building with its windows barricaded by planks, so that's another landmark you should be going after.

As for the wrench, it is a tool that can be found either in crates that randomly spawn across the map or in supply drops that fall from the sky every several days. By the time you are able to go deep into the city, you probably will have already found it, so I would not worry too much about it.

What are the Enchantments from the Weapon Upgrader?

As of May 2026, there are 10 possible enchantments you can get from the Weapon Upgrader. They are Scattershot, Electric, Lethal, Glacial, Forceful, Titanic, Swift, Piercing, Precise, and Inferno. You must keep in mind that each enchantment attempt costs 500 skulls, with them being rewarded when you kill a zombie. This means the Weapon Upgrader is more of a mid- to late-game feature. Below is a detailed list of what each one does in Survive the Apocalypse.

  • Scattershot: Shoots three bullets instead of one, but they do 40% less damage. Useful on high ammo count weapons such as the AK-47 and the LMG. Classes such as Psychic profit the most from this one, as they can equip multiple weapons at the same time, causing immense devastation to zombies
  • Electric: Chance to chain damage, damaging multiple enemies at the same time. All weapons profit from this one.
  • Lethal: Weapon does 30% more damage. Most useful on high ammo count weapons, given that weapons such as the sniper rifle already do enough damage to one-shot most zombies.
  • Glacial: Slows the enemies that you hit, with a small chance to completely freeze them. a great crowd-control enchantment that is most useful with weapons that can hit multiple enemies quickly, like the Uzi, LMG, and Assault Rifle.
  • Forceful: Knocks back enemies and gives +1 penetration. A great combo crowd control and damage enchantment that works best with the likes of the LMG.
  • Titanic: Doubles the ammo capacity of the weapon. LMG benefits the most from this one, as its ammo pool increases from an already larger 100 rounds to a massive 200.
  • Swift: Increases the fire rate by 25% and the reload speed by 50%. Honestly, not that great of an enchantment, given the fact that ammo is a finite resource in Survive the Apocalypse
  • Piercing: Gives +2 penetration. Sniper rifles benefit the most from this one as they are able to dish out their massive damage to multiple enemies.
  • Precise: Gives +50% accuracy and +50% headshot damage.
  • Inferno: A chance for the weapon to cause a flaming explosion on hit.

In our opinion, the best enchantments are Piercing, Forceful, and Lethal, given the fact that their effect is guaranteed to take place rather than depending on random chance.
