How to add friends in Pokémon Unite

Pokémon Unite has been a resounding success, bringing the Pokémon franchise into the Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, or MOBA genre, with ease. Players can take control of their favorite Pokémon and battle in team-based games. Playing with friends is an essential part of the experience for anyone looking to coordinate, and the game's friend list is different than that of the Nintendo Switch.

To add friends to Pokémon Unite, head to the main menu. Press X to open up the secondary interface and select Friends. Once there, head to friend search. Choose the Friend Search tab. You'll need to put the user's trainer ID in to find them in the game. Users can access player IDs by pressing the left trigger in the main menu. This six-digit code is what allows players to become friends.

To accept a request, head to the Friends tab again and press the + button. All friend requests can be seen here.

If you're already friends with a user on Nintendo Switch, press the - button to bring up their information in the Friends Search menu to find their account quickly.
