Psychonauts 2: How to increase Psytanium Limit

Open up your mind.

Psytanium is a consumable resource in Psychonauts 2 integral to character progression. Players can use the Otto-Matic to upgrade Raz’s abilities, purchase items, and acquire pins that augment Raz’s psychic abilities. Initially, Raz’s can only hold 100 Psytatium, but upgrading his capacity is possible.

To increase Raz’s Psytanium limit, head over to any Otto-Matic machine and highlight the items tab. Once in the items menu, select and purchase the Psifold Wallet Upgrade. The price may seem steep at 75 Psytanium, but it will drastically increase Raz’s currency capacity. Once this first upgrade is purchased, the maximum Psynatium players can hold will expand from 100 to 1000.

Players can further upgrade Raz’s storage capacity by buying the Astral Wallet Upgrade for 750 Psytatium, increasing their Psytanium limit from 1000 to 5000. Because there are so many cheap items to grab that’ll aid Raz’s in his journey early on, we recommend grabbing the first Psytatium upgrade as soon as possible and waiting until you’ve amassed a healthy portion of the player upgrades before continuing to expand storage space. Buying several Pins from the shop to augment psychic abilities is an excellent early game option.
