Metroid Dread Cataris 100% completion guide

Complete Cataris 100 percent!

As your journey through the planet ZDR as bounty hunter Samus Aran, you'll quickly find yourself in a new zone called Cataris. This is a heated area, so you may need to come prepared.

In this area, are plenty of secrets to be found. Here's 100 percent of all the items you can find in the second area, Cataris.

All Power Bomb Tanks in Cataris

Power Bomb #1

  • Requirements
    • Everything before the Space Jump

Navigate to the tall room with magnet strips on either side. Go up the right one, jump to the left magnet wall, then Grapple Beam above. Enter the Grapple Beam Door. You have to destroy numerous blocks timely to then magnet onto the magnet wall to drop the platform.

Destroy the Beam Blocks first, then drop two bombs or a cross bomb if you have it. Then quickly, destroy the Rocket Blocks. Jump up and pull the platform down.

Power Bomb #2

  • Requirements
    • Everything before Power Bomb

Two rooms to the left of Cataris Map Station is a Morph Ball Tunnel. Navigate to the middle of this tunnel, just to the left where it drops, and Power Bomb. To reveal a secret area. Now you need to complete a Speed Boost puzzle.

Go to the long corridor above this area, dash from left to right, and Speed Boost. Shoot the door, slide under the gap, then Shinespark. Immediately slide to the left into the tunnel. Drop down the secret tunnel and when on the Beam Block below Shinespark to the right.

Power Bomb #3

  • Requirements
    • Everything before the Gravity Suit

Inside Kraids boss room, in the lava to the far right, is a hidden Morph Ball tunnel. In the next room is a morph ball maze. The picture above shows you the Bomb Blocks you have to destroy. Everywhere else is a Pitfall Block. Once at the top, Grapple Beam the Grapple Beam Block to get your prize.

All Energy Tank/Parts Tanks in Cataris

Energy Part #1

  • Requirements
    • Everything before Spider Magnet

Once you have changed the Thermal Flow and drained the lava in the winding passage, navigate around to the opposite side, so you are in the area below it. Follow the path around to claim the Energy Part.

Energy Tank #2

  • Requirements
    • Everything before the/and Phantom Cloak

Once you have changed the Thermal Flow and drained the lava in the winding passage, navigate around to the opposite side, so you are in the area below it. Spider Magnet onto the magnet platform and lower it down. Now head to the room above, through the Sensor Gate to grab the full E-Tank and carry on with progression.

Energy Part #3

  • Requirements
    • Everything before the/and Power Bomb

Underneath the Purple Teleporter is a hidden area. Before you go down, open the Grapple Beam Door to the right, and before the blocked door, jump above it and Morph Ball into the gap. On the other side, shoot down using the Wave Beam and unlock the door. Go into the room below, and remove the Grapple Beam Block.

Now go underneath the Purple Teleporter by shooting the floor and follow it down. At the bottom, you need to Power Bomb the wall to get access to the next passage. Then go back to the far left and Speed Boost immediately after breaking the Speed Booster Blocks, Shinespark. Continue until you see Speed Booster Blocks above you. Shinespark up. When you reach the top, immediately, Flash Shift to the right to grab the ledge.

All Missle Capacity in Cataris

Missile Capacity +2 #1

Missile Capacity +2 #2

  • Requirements
    • Everything before/and the Morph Ball

To the Northeast of the Ataria elevator, a room is guarded by a rock beam enemy. Once defeated, hug the far right wall and beam up to get the upgrade.

Missile Capacity +2 #3

  • Requirements
    • Morph Ball

This Missile Capacity is under the Network Station room. Above the Total Recharge Station is a Morph Ball Tunnel. Enter it for the upgrade. It can only be acquired from entering from the left, as you need to destroy the wall mass to gain entry from the right.

Missile Capacity +2 #4

  • Requirements
    • Screw Attack

Above the room, you defeated Experiment Z-57. In the top, left corner are Screw Attack Blocks. Go through them.

Missile Capacity +2 #5

  • Requirements
    • Varia Suit

In this room, if you fail at a jump, you will fall into lava and take damage. You must jump carefully from platform to platform, taking out all enemies. Then wall jump off the far right wall.

Missile Capacity +2 #6

  • Requirements
    • Everything before/and Diffusion Beam

Shoot the wall masses with your Diffusion Beam, then Morph Ball through the tunnels.

Missile Capacity +2 #7

  • Requirements
    • Everything before/and Diffusion Beam

Shoot the blocks on the side, climb in them, jump out of them to reach the one above, Grab onto the ledge and shoot the magnet wall to the right. Then fire your Diffusion Beam at the mass to allow access to the upgrade.

Missile Capacity +2 #8

  • Requirements
    • Everything before/and Gravity Suit.

Above Kraids boss room, there is a lava tunnel. At the end of the tunnel is the upgrade.

Missile Capacity +10 #9

  • Requirements
    • Morph Ball

This capacity upgrade is hard to miss. As before the West Save Station, there is a series of Morph Ball tunnels. To the far right of the second tunnel is the +10 capacity increase.

Missile Capacity +2 #10

  • Requirements
    • Everything before/and Gravity Suit

This is a Speed Booster puzzle. From left to right on the floor. Activate Speed Boost straight away, shooting in front of you. Slide, then slam into the Speed Booster Blocks.

Missile Capacity +2 #11

  • Requirements
    • Everything before/and Varia Suit

Shoot the Beam Blocks in front of you, but don't destroy them all. You need at least one to stand on to jump and grab the ledge above.

Missile Capacity +2 #12

  • Requirements
    • Morph Ball

After the EMMI is destroyed, navigate to the southwest of this area, where you need the Morph Ball to gain access to the upgrade. This is unmissable as it's progress.

Missile Capacity +2 #13

  • Requirements
    • Everything before and the Morph Ball

In the room below the northeast Save Station, a blue magnet wall lines the top of this room. You need to make it across the magnet wall and shoot the Rocket Blocks and then grab the edge of the ledge.

But there is a powerful robot in here that can do a hell of a lot of damage. Yet it does have counter-attack openings if you are patient,

Missile Capacity +2 #14

  • Requirements
    • Everything before/and Space Jump

Space Jump up to the top of the area, enter the Morph Ball Tunnel. Use Bombs on all the Blocks, fall down, and Bomb again.

Missile Capacity +2 #15

  • Requirements
    • Everything before/and Morph Bombs

In this room, move the Wide Beam Block, and Bomb the floor underneath where it was. Go down, and at the far left, shoot once to destroy the Block and Morph Ball inside.
