How to do vigilante missions in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – Definitive Edition

I mess with 12.

The vigilante missions in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - Definitive Edition have not changed since the original. To get into Vigilante mode, the player must get a police cruiser or motorcycle and then press the up button on the D-Pad.

The objective is to kill all criminals that CJ is assigned by dispatch. Players can only start vigilante missions from Level 1, and CJ cannot continue a previously failed or canceled mission.

You can just drive up to the criminals' car and shoot at it until it is destroyed. It is possible to kill the criminals on foot by performing P.I.T Maneuvers or by damaging their vehicle enough to force them out of their vehicle. Players should keep in mind that some criminals may carry AK-47s on higher levels.

Below are the rewards for completing each Viligante level:

  • Level 1 - $ 50
  • Level 2 - $ 200
  • Level 3 - $ 450
  • Level 4 - $ 800
  • Level 5 - $ 1250
  • Level 6 - $ 1800
  • Level 7 - $ 2450
  • Level 8 - $ 3200
  • Level 9 - $ 4050
  • Level 10 - $ 5000
  • Level 11 - $ 6050
  • Level 12 - $ 7200
  • Maximum Armor Increased by 50% (Complete Level 12)

When the player remains outside of a Law Enforcement vehicle for more than 60 seconds in a row, dies or is arrested, time runs out, or the vehicle is destroyed, the mission is deemed a failure.

Players in the Vigilante mode are not immune to police pursuit, who will often pursue them for murder, firing weapons, hitting police cars, etc. Because CJ can respray almost no emergency vehicles, the player may achieve the wanted level faster than finding police bribes.

Players can also use gang members to help them out.

Players should keep an eye on their wanted level, as cops will also try to stop them. Additionally, gaining a 3-star wanted level, or above will also put the player's police vehicle in danger as cops on foot will deploy spike belts to burst the player's tires, making chasing the criminals more difficult.
