Role Quests return in Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, giving you a series of narrative quests for Tanks, Physical Melee DPS, Physical Ranged DPS, Magical DPS, and Healers. But how do you unlock Role Quests in Endwalker?
The first step is completely up to the quest At World's End in the Endwalker Main Story Quest. This is a level 85 that occurs in the city of Radz-at-Han. From there, you'll be taken to the Sundrop, near the Hall of the Radiant Host. This is a kind of diplomatic hall with representatives from many of the familiar locations in Final Fantasy XIV.
From here, you can now begin the role quests. Simply talk to any of the delegates to begin your role quests.
Job Quests were unified after Stormblood, with each individual class instead of receiving Role Quests. Some were critical of this in Shadowbringers, as Physical DPS was lumped together, with ranged and melee getting no unique story. Many felt they’d lost an important part of their character’s progression.
However, many concerns about Role Quests have been dealt with in Endwalker. You now receive a Role Quest every level from 85-90, giving you six total quests for every Role. This is as many, if not more, than many of the original job quests. The Role Quests also bring back many of the previous favorite characters from the Final Fantasy XIV story, making them a great way to catch up with some familiar faces.
