How to change appearance in Monster Hunter Rise

Fashion Hunter, how I've missed thee!

Layered armor lets players change their appearance without changing their actual armor. This allows them to take advantage of the set bonuses of the armor, the armor's Defense, and its resistances. So how do you unlock Layered Armor in Monster Hunter Rise?

Players have to reach High Rank Eight in order to start being able to use Layered Armor. To reach High Rank, players will have to progress through the game, completing quests at the Gathering Hub up to four stars. Players can also keep completing Village Quests to unlock Special License Test Quests which will unlock High Rank.

Equipping And Forging Layered Armor

Once players reach High Rank Eight, any DLC for Layered Armor will be available to equip at the Equipment Box. To forge armor, players only have to use an Outfit Voucher. Three of these vouchers will be unlocked when unlocking the ability to equip Layered Armor and the rest can be acquired by doing certain eight star quests. An Outfit Voucher and a few materials from Monsters is all that is required to start forging Layered Armor. It will take on the appearance of a set of armor and players can mix and match pieces as they see fit without having to sacrifice the defense of their equipped armor.
