How the points system works in Control Apex Legends

The first to 1,250 takes the W.

Winning Battle Royale or Arenas in Apex Legends is about staying alive. Avoiding death in Control can help your personal player Ratings, but it doesn’t have nearly as much to do with a win condition as in the other modes. In Control, it is all about owning Zones, which is all about earning points. Let’s take a look at how Zones equate to points and what a win condition looks like in the Apex Legends Control mode.

Owning a Zone will give you a steady flow of one point for your team every second. This stacks with how many Zones you own. If one team owns two Zones, they will be earning two points per second instead. This makes gaining ownership of the Central Zone extremely important. If your team owns two Zones for the majority of a game, you will most likely win.

The win condition is generally point-based. A team generally needs to earn a total of 1,250 points over a match to win. The only time that you can circumvent this win condition is in the case of a Lockout, but otherwise, the team always keeps focusing on the score and trying to keep it higher than the enemy team at all times.
