Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is the ultimate Persona crossover fighting game, featuring characters from across the Persona series competing in an all-out brawl. But being a crossover game, it’s important to know if your favourite characters made it in. Despite the title, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax features characters from both Persona 4 and Persona 3.
First released in 2014 in arcades and on console, we already know the full Persona 4 Arena Ultimax roster as it heads toward release on the PC and PS4 on March 17, 2022. Below, we’ve listed all 21 playable characters featured in Persona 4 Arena Ultimax.

But beyond these characters, the visual-novel style story mode of the game features other characters from both Persona 3 and Persona 4. Additionally, the majority of the character also have a Shadow Type—an evil version of the character. What’s more, Sho Minazuki has two different versions of his character, one with a Persona and one without. In total there’s around 40 characters featured if you include the non-playable ones and Shadow Types.
Some of these characters listed were featured as downloadable content on the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. It’s currently unknown whether they will be included in the initial release of the game or have to be purchased later.
