Chapter 18: From the Abyss Battle Guide – Triangle Strategy

Fight for the Roselle!

Triangle Strategy's battle of Chapter XVIII: From the Abyss unfolds upon the beds and fountain at the Ministry of Medicine. Lyla leads Hyzantian forces against you, and you must defeat her if you want to help the Roselle—like you said you did. This new fight, Battle at the Ministry, will commence once you choose your units. To win, "decimate the enemy forces," and you'll lose when you see all of yours defeated.

One of the best units to have for this fight will be Geela, whose Heal What Ails You ability can cure your status ailments—not including Stop. But since these enemies may put you to sleep for two turns with Slumber Stab, you can bring her or Medina with Sleep Recovery Pellets, Panacea, or Cure-all Pellets.

Bring Julio, whose TP dealing will be of extreme use in this fight. Lyla's powerful move Temporal Suspension will Immobilize any allied units within range for two turns, so it's best to head her off with Julio's Not On My Watch. This ability will diminish Lyla's TP and should restrain her most harmful effects.

Roland's Pushback and Erador's Ram Foe will also help force Lyla away from your units and hamper her ability to Stop them. Remember that you can also rely on the Restore Quietus, which will heal an allied unit, as well as replenish half their HP.

Save Lyla for last

Once the battle commences, you'll have to deal with three Hyzantian Elite Blades, three Elite Bowmen, two Elite Rogues, two Healers (one Elite and one regular), two Elite Battlemages in the back, and an Elite Shieldbearer and Pikeman to guard Lyla's front. All units are at level 28 (recommended), and Lyla is at level 31.

Take a defensive stance and try not to move too far ahead, or they will target and defeat allies who go unsupported. These Blades can slice multiple units at once, so do your best to spread yours out rather than crowd them together. Lyla will also cast Delayed Casting on your allies. This one will look like a yellow orb you're carrying around on your head for two turns before it explodes and causes massive damage.

Fortunately, Lyla is a relatively defensive boss and will retreat to safer ground herself if you've turned the tides. This will free you to leave her for last. Beware the Elite Blades' counter strikes, which can chain with Follow-Up attacks. The same goes for the Rogues, whose ability to Act Twice must be factored into your strategy. Once they and the Shieldbearer and Pikemen are gone, focus on the Bowmen, then the Battlemages and Healers.
