Splatoon 3 is the third entry and conclusion to the series. Fans who have played through Splatoon and Splatoon 2 will be able to experience the exciting trilogy, finally completed. Furthermore, those with Splatoon 2 data can transfer their save file to Splatoon 3. This may leave you wondering how to import your Splatoon 2 save file to Splatoon 3.
How to transfer Splatoon 2 data to Splatoon 3
If you have a save file from Splatoon 2 on your Nintendo Switch, Splatoon 3 will automatically detect this and prompt you to import your data. It doesn't matter if the data is in your internal storage or an SD card; either will allow you to import your Splatoon 2 data.
Be sure to select yes when prompted, as you will receive a handful of rewards. You will need to first enter Splatsville and complete an online match before you can redeem your rewards. You must also be connected to the internet for Splatoon 3 to detect your Splatoon 3 data. If you do not select yes, you will not be able to import Splatoon 2 data at a later time.
What does Splatoon 2 data do in Splatoon 3?
Importing your data from Splatoon 2 into Splatoon 3 will reward you with three Golden Sheldon Licenses. These can be given to Sheldon in exchange for any weapon he sells, regardless of the required level to unlock.
You also gain access to the Ranked Anarchy Battles game mode immediately instead of having to reach level 10. Last but not least, your rank will be adjusted to your Splatoon 2 rank, and your play stats will also be imported.
