Assassin's Creed Codename Red is said to be one of Ubisoft's biggest investments. It will be the next flagship game in the franchise after Assassin's Creed Mirage, which comes out in 2023. We know right now that the game will take place in feudal Japan and will portray the Shinobi culture, a setting that players have been asking for a while. Assassin's Creed Codename Red is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec, the studio responsible for creating Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Since we already have Assassin's Creed Mirage planned for 2023, you can expect Assassin's Creed Codename Red to come out in late 2024 at the very earliest. However, you're most likely to see Assassin's Creed Codename Red's launch in 2025 as the developers at Ubisoft claim this to be a highly ambitious project and the next big step for the franchise.

What platforms will Assassin's Creed Codename Red be on?

Being a premium offering like other games, Assassin's Creed Codename Red will supposedly be arriving on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Microsoft Windows, and cloud gaming services. You'll notice here that we haven't mentioned last-gen consoles like Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This is because the game is being developed to provide the best player experience for current-gen consoles.
