Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is the highly anticipated sequel to Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and seems to be an improvement in every way. While the humor is still present, the story seems to be taking a darker tone with the introduction of Cursa, the Darkmess, and new characters. A surprisingly absent character is Rosalina, which may leave you wondering if Rosalina is in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope.
Does Rosalina appear in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope?
There is no official confirmation that Rosalina is in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, but a lot of evidence supports this. A popular fan theory is that Rosalina is secretly Cursa, the villain of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. We have combed through trailers, news, and more and compiled evidence that supports this.
Is Rosalina the villain Cursa in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope?
Whether Rosalina is Cursa remains to be seen, but the Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Story trailer on Ubisoft's YouTube channel reveals a big hint that this is true. At the 1:50-minute mark, Cursa seems to recognize the Sparks, Rabbid forms of the Lumas, and its eye turns from red to blue, which matches Rosalina's eyes. We also see a star emblem on Cursa's robe that matches Rosalina's dress.
The same trailer was uploaded to the Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope Twitter, stating, "Shrouded in Darkmess, a deep secret could consume even the brightest light." This may hint that Rosalina, the brightest light, has been corrupted somehow and is now the embodiment of darkness, Cursa.

We can surmise that Rosalina will at least be in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope in some form, as Rabbid Rosalina is a character. Most Mario characters in the main story receive a Rabbid counterpart, yet Rosalina is unavailable in your party. This suggests she is either not in the game or will be present in another form, such as Cursa.
One of the primary focuses of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hopes is the Sparks themselves. These appear to be Rabbid forms of the Lumas, whom Rosalina is the protector of. With the Sparks in danger, we have to wonder why Rosalina isn't there to protect them. This could point to Rosalina's absence, but it could also be that some power has turned Rosalina into Cursa and explains why she is after the Sparks and seemingly recognizes them.
We won't know for certain Cursa's identity and whether this villain is Rosalina or a new character until Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope releases. But the theory that the characters are the same is very compelling, and we hope it is true. It would be satisfying to defeat Cursa, get the reveal of Rosalina, and have her join your party against whatever force corrupted the princess in a final battle.
