Girafarig gets new evolution Farigiraf in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Is it wearing its tail as a hat or did it transform?

One of the most exciting aspects of a new Pokémon title is meeting and befriending all the new Pokémon introduced. A most welcome addition to the Pokémon roster is Pokémon Scarlet and Violet's Farigiraf, a new evolution for Girafarig.

The Jump into a Paldean Journey trailer on The Pokémon Company YouTube gives a first look at Girafarig's new evolution. Farigiraf seems to have traded its signature tail for a new look on its head and keeps Girafarig's Normal and Psychic-typing. Farigiraf has an adorable and comical look to it that will surely be a hit with fans.

Girafarig has long been overdue for an evolution, especially considering its unique typing of Normal and Psychic makes it weak only to Bug and Dark type attacks. Farigiraf should bring some viability to Girafarig and see some increased use.

Farigiraf does not seem to have any special requirements to evolve, such as trading or an evolution stone. From the trailer, it appears you simply need to get Girafarig to a certain level, and it will evolve into Farigiraf.
