Where to get Metal Coat in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

No Onix or Steelix but that's okay!

The Metal Coat in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet serves two functions: increasing Steel Type moves' power in battle and being capable of evolving Scyther. There are two methods of obtaining the item, with just buying it at the Delibird Presents in Levincia being the easiest method. It's pretty inexpensive, but players will want to have multiple of the item for the right evolutions. This is everything players need to know about Metal Coat in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

Home of the Electric Gym of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, players can find the Metal Coat held item in Levincia. The Delibird Presents has it, along with many other items, in their Battle Items catalog. It costs 3,000 LP or Poké Dollars and there is an unlimited supply of them. It can also be found in Porto Marinada at one of the auctions, but it won't always be on sale there, making it very unreliable. It is possible to manipulate these items, but there is a large number of items that can be cycled through when going to these auctions.

Metal Coat is a great item to give to any Pokémon with a Steel Type move. It increases the damage of Steel Type moves by 20% and can be used to evolve Scyther into Scizor. Unlike in Pokémon Legends Arceus, where players could simply use the item on the Pokémon, Scyther must be holding the Metal Coat and traded in order for it to evolve. If players are having trouble getting money for it, they can farm Tera Raids both Online and Offline for a chance of getting Stardust and other sellable items.
