The False Dragon Titan is one of the five Titan Pokémon you have to beat to help Arven restore the vitality of his partner. Unlike other Titan Pokémon, the False Dragon isn’t gigantic. It’s a combination of two Pokémon species you can find in the game: Dondozo and Tatsugiri. But can you combine these two Pokémon to create a smaller version of the False Dragon?
Can Dondozo and Tatsugiri merge into one Pokémon?
The short answer to this question is yes, Dondozo and Tatsugiri can merge into one Pokémon. However, this is only possible during double battles, where both Pokémon are out on the field. Tatsugiri’s Commander ability will automatically nudge it into an ally Dondozo’s mouth for the duration of the battle.
When Dondozo uses the move Order Up with Tatsugiri in its mouth, Tatsugiri will provide a specific stat buff depending on the smaller Pokémon’s color. Dondozo learns Order Up at level 50.
- Orange Form Tatsugiri will raise Dondozo’s Attack
- Red Form Tatsugiri will raise Dondozo’s Defense
- Yellow Form Tatsugiri will raise Dondozo’s Speed

Tatsugiri can still use moves inside of Dondozo’s month. And this small creature is a hard-hitter too, despite its size. Its base Sp. Atk is 120, which means you need to teach it a ton of Special Attacks. We recommend Dragon Pulse (level 52) and Surf (TM 123). With Tatsugiri inside of Dondozo’s month, Surf will not affect Dondozo.
Aside from being a tank that can measure up to Wailord, Dondozo is also a powerful beast, boasting a base Attack of 100. Teach it Physical Moves.
