Fortnite Groot Challenges – How to get Rocket!

Each of the new Marvel skins has a batch of Awakening Challenges that can be completed to earn yourself additional emotes, styles, back blings, or pets. Groot is no different, and if you can finish these task you will earn yourself a built-in emote and a really awesome Rocket pet from the Guardians of Galaxy franchise. Groot only requires you to get to a certain level and visit a couple of different locations.

To complete the Groot Awakening Challenges, you will need to reach level 46 on your Battle Pass, plant a seed at a heart-shaped island, and use an emote as Groot at a friendship monument. All of these in-game challenges require you to be wearing the Groot skin to complete. If you can finish all of these tasks, you will be rewarded with the Rocket pet!

Reach Level 46 on the Battle Pass

Getting to level 46 is pretty simple and you can do it pretty easily if you're playing the game normally or jumping into Team Rumble. Make sure to do all of your challenges and try to collect XP coins. If you want to level up quickly, check out our how to level up fast guide!

Plant a Seed on a Heart-Shaped Island as Groot

To the very western side of the map and to the west of Sweaty Sands, you will find a group of islands that's on the very edge of the map. One of them is somewhat heart-shaped, so you will need to head there and find a small dirt patch with a plant sticking out of it. Target the plant and it will let you plant the seed and complete the challenge.

Emote as Groot at a Friendship Monument

Your good friends Hayman and Pipeman have found each other and are giving each other a high five over on the western side of the map. This is right next to the Fort Crumpet landmark. This is northwest of Sweaty Sands and in-between some trees you will find the two heroes of the map. Once you're nearby them just use an emote and you will complete the challenge.
