Finding opponents

After completing the event tutorial, you can defeat five opponents in the Beetle Brawl arena—they will unlock during the first five days of the event. Speak with the NPCs with a number on their heads to initiate battle.

Difficulty level

There are three difficulties: Friendly Spar, Honed Will, and Fanatic Passion. You only need to complete the lowest difficulty to get the Primogem reward.

Completing a higher difficulty will unlock all rewards from easier difficulties, and you can only unlock Fanatic Passion after completing Honed Will. In general, the difficulty affects the amount of damage your Onikabuto receives from the opponent.

Beetle Battle

You can control your beetle by clicking on the left and right buttons (see the screen for the exact controls depending on your device and mapped buttons). These will order the beetle to move forward or backward.

Tapping left or right will make the beetle go one step forward or backward, and will not deal damage to the enemy, even upon impact. When the enemy is about to attack you, a red zone or AoE circle indicating their attack distance will appear. Use this as a guide for dodging the impact.

To deal damage against the opponent, hold the forward (right) button to charge the beetle. The amount of charge you build will increase the distance and impact the beetle travels. At maximum charge, the beetle can charge forward by two tiles. The yellow bar under your name indicates how much you can charge. This increases gradually over time.

The easiest way to win the battle without getting hurt is to do the following:

  • Stay out of the enemy's AoE zone.
  • While the enemy is busy charging, charge your beetle as well.
  • While the enemy is still charging, release your charge to attack the opponent off-guard. Or wait until the enemy has just charged forward, then release your charge before the opponent makes their next move.

Rewards

Head to the event details to claim rewards for each difficulty level you complete. You only need to complete the Friendly Spar to get 80 Primogems plus other resources.
