BitLife Shawshank Challenge Guide – How to Get Beaten by Gangs

It's time to do some hard time in prison to complete this new BitLife challenge. You are going to need to get convicted for murder, spend 30 years in prison, get beaten by gangs, eventually escape, and then emigrate to Mexico to finish all of the tasks!

You'll be sipping cold beers on the warm beaches of Zihuatanejo, Mexico, after surviving this correctional challenge!

Here's a look at the requirements to completing the Shawshank Challenge:

• Get convicted for murder in the USA
• Spend 30 years in American prison
• Get beaten 5+ times by prison gangs
• Escape after 30 years
• Emigrate to Mexico

Your character stats and traits aren't really going to make much of a difference. Just make sure to be born in a state in the United States. Wait until you are 18 years old and then head to the Activity menu and look for Crime. Here you will be able to murder someone. It shouldn't matter who it is, you'll just need to get found out. The key here is to not be too good at it because we want to get caught! Once you face your trial, just pick the Public Defender because we want to be in prison for a while anyway.

Now that you are in jail, you can try to join a gang. You can actually catch a beating for attempting to join a gang that has a high notoriety while you are a low level prisoner. You can also fight other inmates that are in gangs to get beaten up by a gang. The main thing to watch out for is your health getting too low. You can go to the Infirmary to recover some health, and you can also use the Mind & Body options to improve it as well. I recommend healing yourself up quite a bit before going in for another beating. Make sure you survive the altercations or you could end up getting killed.

Once you've gotten beaten five times, stop doing that because you don't want to risk getting killed. Now it's time to escape prison. There's a whole bunch of different jail puzzles that you could have to solve. We have a guide to most of them right here. If you don't see the puzzle on the list, just skip the year and go to the next one!

If you can successfully escape from prison, then all you have to do now is emigrate to Mexico. It won't always be an option, so you can age up or close out of your app for a new set of locations. You will need to emigrate illegally, so if you don't make it out when you try, you can close out of the application to make another attempt. It doesn't seem like you have good odds of getting out easily, so make sure to reset the app if you fail. Keep doing this until you've made it to the beautiful beaches of Mexico!
