The Final Fantasy series has numerous titles, each creating a unique world, atmosphere, and gameplay experience. Over the years, the Final Fantasy series has appeared on many consoles, though they've always had a home on Sony consoles, including Final Fantasy XVi. But this may leave you wondering if Final Fantasy XVI is coming to PC and Xbox.
Can you play Final Fantasy XVI on PC or Xbox?
The answer is no—at least not at launch. Final Fantasy XVI is a PlayStation exclusive for what appears to be 2023. Final Fantasy XVI's producer Naoki Yoshida stated that there were no plans for a PC version of Final Fantasy XVI six months after launch, meaning we may see a PC port in 2024. The news is even worse for Xbox players.

There are currently no plans to bring Final Fantasy XVI to Xbox. This is made even more complicated due to the ongoing dispute, as Microsoft is in the process of acquiring Activision/Blizzard. With no Xbox port in sight, this also means that Game Pass will not get Final Fantasy XVI, despite other Final Fantasy titles being on the subscription service.
This likely means the only way to play the next Final Fantasy entry is to purchase a PlayStation 5. Naoki Yoshida also encouraged fans to purchase the Sony console if they want to play Final Fantasy XVI, further cementing that it will remain a Sony exclusive for quite some time.
