The 2023 Roblox Developer Conference (RDC) is set to take place on September 8, 2023, and September 9, 2023, with the fan-favorite Innovation Awards occurring the same weekend. This award show aims to continue the previous Bloxy Awards legacy by recognizing the most influential, successful, and forward-thinking creators, developers, and experiences across the Roblox platform. Before the Innovation Awards take place, Roblox will also be hosting a Keynote livestream to introduce new features and innovations to the site, along with multiple panels, meet and greets, and much more.
In previous years, RDC has been an invite-only, hybrid event; this year, that remains true, with invitation applications going live later this summer. To attend this event, applicants must be well-known developers, YouTubers, content creators, or fall somewhere within the realm of Roblox's popular culture. Once an application has been approved, permission has been granted to attend RDC, and the Innovation Awards, either in person or virtually through a video call. Those in attendance will be able to visit panels, speak to other developers/creators, and learn about the future of Roblox not only as a platform, but as a corporation.
Last year marked the debut of the Innovation Awards, after rebranding from the popular Bloxy Awards, and saw multiple experiences receive first time nominations and wins. In 2023, the Innovation Awards will likely continue to expand and draw in even more attendees, both in person and virtually.
