There are a ton of weapons to choose from in Mordhau, and all of them have some use in one way or another. However, there must always be a set of best weapons, and we think you should know which ones those are. So, here's our definitive Mordhau weapon tier list for your reading pleasure.
The Best Weapons in Mordhau
Weapons on this list were selected due to their above-average stats and loadout costs. Balance in Mordhau is extremely solid, so the difference between each of the weapons, in terms of power, is minimal if they are used in the correct manner. Therefore, understand that this tier list is entirely based on general performance rather than 1v1 duels or large-scale battles. Also, no lutes on this list. Sorry Bards!
The following rankings are in no particular order and, instead, represent the selection of the best weapons you can use in Mordhau:
1. Zweihander
The Zweihander is an absolute monster in the hands of one that can properly handle the weapon's slow swing speed, and utilize it to hand out delayed punishment. Its massive range for a sword also allows for some of the cleanest cleaving strikes you can have in all of Mordhau.
2. Maul
Sporting the absolute highest possible strike damage in the entire game, the Maul is a monster at delivering utterly destructive blows, often killing lightly-armored targets in a single well-placed strike. In the hands of a novice, the Maul seems rather lackluster. It has a very slow swing speed and very low range, but those that can play around these pitfalls will be a force on the battlefield.
3. Greatsword
The Greatsword functions as a weaker Zweihander with a significantly faster swing speed, making it the go-to option for those looking to swing around a big sword at a decent speed and still deliver wide-cleaving payloads.
4. Spear
The Spear has the longest reach of any other melee weapon in the game, making it the ideal frontline support in a group fight. With its high stab damage and incredible range, it is the perfect tool for landing deadly headshots with ease. Although it is hampered a bit by its slow swing speed, its range makes up for this, often allowing you to take out targets in a single, well-placed, long-ranged stab.
5. Pole Axe
The Pole Axe is a weapon that has extremely solid stats across the board, allowing it to fit into any situation nicely.
6. Scimitar
With the highest Strike Damage of any one-handed weapon and an extremely solid swing speed to complement, the Scimitar is a force of nature on the battlefield, especially if you use a shield with it.
7. Short Spear
The Short Spear's advantages are practically identical to the Spear's, only it can use a shield with it. As the name implies, the weapon does have a shorter range than the normal Spear, but its damage is surprisingly higher.

8. Arming Sword
The Arming Sword is a very middle-of-the-pack weapon when it comes to damage raw stats. However, the reason we put it on this list is because of its low Loadout Point cost and swing speed. It is a solid weapon that can fit into almost any build, no matter what else you're using.
9. Dagger
Sporting the fastest swing speed of any weapon in the entire game, the Dagger is a potent tool when used to engage and overwhelm lumbering enemies at close-range, or through an ambush. While its damage stats are rather poor, with the Stab Damage being the highest by a large margin, its speed allows for several consecutive blows, all before your enemy even gets a chance to swing back.
10. Halberd
The Halberd has incredible stats across the board, except in the speed department, where it really lacks. However, its damage profile more than makes up for the lack of speed in the hands of someone that can utilize its slow swing speed for delayed punishment, much like the Zweihander.
11. Bastard Sword
With incredibly decent stats across the board, the true advantage of the Bastard Sword is its ability to be used one-handed or two-handed, depending on the situation.
