Turn-based strategy RPG Wartales is a complex game of managing a party of companions as they explore a medieval land in search of adventure. While winning battles is a key element to success, the importance of gathering and crafting can’t be underrated. But if you prefer to have a smaller party of companions, it can be hard to cover all the important professions. All is not lost, as here you’ll find changing professions and having multiple professions in Wartales explained.
Can you have multiple professions in Wartales?
The good news is, yes, you can have multiple professions on each companion in Wartales, but not at the same time. When you switch, you’ll lose all your experience on the current level you’re at. So, if you are an Experienced Cook and change from Cook to a Miner and then back again, you would still be an Experienced Cook, but you would have to start earning experience for the next level again. This means that if you have mastered a skill, you will lose nothing. I found out that the best time to switch professions is just after gaining a new level to keep experience loss to a minimum.
How do you change professions in Wartales?
If you want to change a character’s profession, simply open their character sheet and right-click their current profession icon (top right, next to their name). Next, select the profession you want to switch to. You’ll get a prompt saying you’ll lose all experience gained at your current level (see above). If you’re OK with that, click OK to change profession. Note that you’ll only have the bonus of your current profession.
