Honkai Star Rail Best Dan Heng Build – Light Cones, Relics, & More!

A vision of greatness.

Honkai: Star Rail introduces you to Dan Heng, the last member of its main trio, fairly early on in the Main Story. You'll receive you free copy of this character, and he can pack quite the punch if you know how to build him well. Here's how I would recommend to building him, using the best Light Cones, Relics, and the right team.

Best Light Cone for Dan Heng in Honkai Star Rail

The Best Light Cone to use for Dan Heng is either Sleep Like the Dead or Cruising in the Stellar Sea. I prefer the latter for Dan Heng, as it is a weapon you can also obtain and fully Superimpose for free. It's purchased from Herta's Store in the Simulated Universe for eight Herta Bonds, and each item used to Superimpose the Light Cone cost two Herta Bonds.

Best free-to-play Light Cone for Dan Heng in Honkai Star Rail

While you are waiting to earn that Light Cone, you could use other four-star Light Cones like Only Silence Remains or Swordplay. You will likely obtain one copy of one or the other fairly quickly by pulling on any Gacha Banner. If you are still in a pinch, you could use Adversarial, one of the best Three-Star Light Cones.

Best Relic sets for Dan Heng in Honkai Star Rail

For the best effect, you should try to give Dan Heng the Eagle of Twilight Line Relic Set. It boosts both Wind damage and Advances his actions forward. For Planar Ornaments, you could use either the Celestial Differentiator or Inert Salsotto Sets, which boost Critical Damage and Rate, respectively. If you can't decide which one you need, remember that it is generally best for characters to have a 1:2 Critical Rate to Critical Damage ratio.

Which of Dan Heng's Stats should you boost?

Dan Heng is a damage dealing character first and foremost, so you should focus on that. Here are the Main stats I recommend focusing on for the four Relic pieces that can vary:

  • Feet: Speed or Attack%
  • Body: Critical Damage or Critical Rate
  • Sphere: Wind Damage
  • Rope: Attack%

Dan Heng's Path and Element in Honkai Star Rail

The Path the Dan Heng follows in The Hunt, so he specializes in single-target damage. He is a Wind element character, of which there are currently only three, so he may be your only Wind element character for a while if you miss out on Bronya or Sampo.

Who pairs well with Dan Heng in Combat?

Those other two Wind element characters, Bronya and Sampo, definetly work well with Dan Heng when they are fighting enemies weak to the Wind Element. Dan Heng's damage is also boosted by enemies being afflicted with Slow, so if you have Welt in your roster, he can help to reliably boost Dan Heng's damage. Don't forget to bring defensive characters in any team that you build, like March 7th or Natasha.
