Surprisingly, most of Diablo 4's content on offer comes after you have reached level 50. This is because Blizzard put a significant amount of effort into the game's core endgame loop, which is important for your progression. However, it isn't exactly clear what you should be doing once you reach level 50. In fact, unless you've been paying close attention, almost nothing obvious changes once you reach this capstone level. Thankfully, I've been long into Diablo 4's extensive endgame and can provide you with the guidance you need. Here's a checklist for what you should be doing after level 50.
H2 Diablo IV - Level 50-70 leveling guide
Once you've reached level 50, the first thing you're absolutely going to want to do is complete the main campaign. Most of Diablo 4's content comes from this completion and is required to reach the game's central endgame loop. Once you've done this, a bunch of new options for progression will unlock. Here is a list of activities you should pay attention to in order of importance:
World Tier 3 Capstone Dungeon
When you complete the campaign, you can immediately tackle the World Tier 3 Capstone Dungeon. As the title suggests, completion of this dungeon will unlock World Tier 3 for you, which provides you with significantly more experience and better loot drops. This is super important if you're looking to seriously progress past level 50.
Tree of Whispers
Whether you're in World Tier 3 or not, upon completion of the campaign, you will see red bounties on your world map called Whispers. These are randomized objectives that, when completed, reward you with Grim Favor toward the Tree of Whispers. The difficulty of the objective determines how much Grim Favor you get for completing it. Once you have accumulated 10 Grim Favors, return to the Tree of Whispers. Speaking with the tree will reward you with the option to select a cache. I recommend taking the Legendary one if it is on offer. Despite which cache you select, open it up in your inventory to receive a slew of materials, items, and experience points.

Nightmare Dungeons
When you open your first Tree of Whisper cache, you'll also receive a Nightmare Sigil. This is an item needed to activate Nightmare Dungeons, which are normal dungeons enhanced with additional affixes and difficulty. These are important to run as they tend to have more Elites for better gear drops and allow you to start upgrading your glyphs in your early Paragon Board. Nightmare Dungeons come in multiple tiers. The higher level of the Nightmare Sigil, the harder the proceeded Nightmare Dungeon. When activated, the selected Nightmare Dungeon will appear with a red glow on your world map.
Helltides Events
Helltides are special events that blanket an area on the world map in a reddish glow. In this area, powerful demon hordes will spawn. When killed, they have a chance to drop Cinders, which you will need to open special chests located around the Helltide area. Each chest drops high-tier loot and materials. They also have different Cinders requirements, so you'll need to be paying attention to which ones you're going for. Note that dying with Cinders will cause you to lose a bunch of them. So tread carefully.
Additionally, Helltides are limited events, typically only available for about 35 minutes, before disappearing. Not to worry though. Helltide events spawn roughly every two hours, so if you missed one, all you need to do is wait for another to appear. When a Helltide ends, all your unused Cinders will vanish.
World Bosses
World Bosses are giant, large-scale encounters that appear on your world map when they are about to spawn. Despite the grand nature of their existence, World Bosses are actually pretty weak and impossible to fail. They can even be soloed, though you will likely find other players killing them with you. This is because World Bosses have a chance to drop some seriously amazing loot. Make sure you do them.
If you're actively doing all of these activities, you'll find yourself level 70 in no time at all. You're welcome.
