Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity – How to Heal

No longer can you eat a full course meal when pausing!

The prequel to Breath of the Wild is here; now, players can battle against the forces that laid waste to Hyrule 100 years in the future. Play as Link, Zelda, Impa, plus an array of other characters as you attempt to save Hyrule from turning into the desolate landscape of future Hyrule.

Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity How to Heal

To heal in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, you need to have food. To eat food, press and hold the L Button on the controller, and a four-direction button prompt will appear; press the button with the picture of the apple icon next to it, which is B by default. This will refill your health bar but decrease the amount of food you have.

In the hack and slash Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, as you defeat the foes of Hyrule, they might occasionally drop food, mostly apples. This is a nice touch to Breath of the Wild, as the first food item you normally find is an apple next to the old man at the campfire.

When an apple has been dropped, all you need to do is run into it, and the item will be added to your inventory; it's as easy as that. If you ever notice that you cannot pick up any apples on the battlefield, this is undoubtedly because you have no more room for apples, and your health is full. Once you retake damage, you can then come back and retrieve the apple to get full stock once again.

Sadly, this might look like Breath of the Wild, but the mechanics are not the same. You cannot open up the pause menu and eat the whole contents of your bag to regain health. The only way to heal is by holding L and B to eat an apple! However, before missions, you can cook to a stat bonus that lasts the entirety of that mission.

Did you pick up the Treasure box edition of Age of Calamity? And are you happy that weapons will no longer break?
