Assassin's Creed Odyssey has plenty of quests you need to complete. One of these quests is Between Two Worlds: The Writhing Dead, a quest where you have to defeat Medusa in the Petrified Temple. While this fight may seem intimidating, it really isn't all that difficult to do. I have some tips for you on how to make it easier for you to beat Medusa. Check them out below.
How to finish the Writhing Dead quest in Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Once you follow Bryce into the Petrified Temple, you will be greeted by a cutscene with Medusa, followed by the fight. When you start, Medusa is in the middle of the Temple, and there are several pillars surrounding her. This is the most important part, as the pillars play a crucial role in beating her.
- As soon as the fight begins, take cover behind a pillar to your left or right.
- Medusa will spawn some petrified statues; keep cover behind the pillar as you take them down.
- Learn her pattern: she shoots a petrifying ray and then drops lightning at you. The rays can be dodged with the help of the pillar, while the lightning forms a circle before actually dropping, giving you plenty of time to move out of the way.
- After this, she will be vulnerable to attacks for a few seconds. Use your bow and arrow to get as many shots in as possible, or use Hero Strike to sweep in and deal damage.
- Back out and take cover behind the pillars again; repeat the process.
I recommend maxing out the Devastating Shot ability, so your bow and arrows do the most efficient damage. Pair that up with the Death Arrow, and you will deal the most damage. Second Wind will give you the healing you need in case you do take any hits during this fight. If you do get petrified by Medusa, you will not need to start over; just keep cover until your health fully regenerates.
