How to get Opaque Cards in Destiny 2

Opaque? So vague!

Destiny 2's Season of the Witch introduces a new mechanic using Opaque Cards. These cards can be used to fill the Deck of Whispers, obtain an arcana quest, and purchase vendor upgrades from the Prismatic Recaster, so finding them plays a significant role in Destiny 2 Season of the Witch. If you don't know how to obtain them, here's a comprehensive guide for you.

Best Ways to Farm Opaque Cards in Destiny 2

There are three main ways to get Opaque Cards in Destiny 2:

  • Complete Savathun’s Spire and Altars of Summoning activities
  • Increase your season vendor rank
  • Participate in playlist activities

Complete Savathun’s Spire and Altars of Summoning Activities

Completing new activities — Savathun’s Spire and Altars of Summoning Activities — in Season of the Witch is the easiest way to farm Opaque Cards in Destiny 2. At the end of the activity, players are entitled to receive these cards most of the time.

Savathun’s Spire is a six-player matchmade activity wherein you must defeat waves of enemies and bosses while collecting Whisper Energy. Altars of Summoning, on the other hand, is a public event wherein you have to activate altars and summon enemies to collect Whisper Energy.

Increase Your Season Vendor Rank

I highly recommend completing activities to earn a reputation with the vendor. You can also equip Season of the Deep armor to increase your reputation earnings and complete Seasonal Challenges to unlock vendor upgrades. As your vendor rank increases, you can collect Opaque Cards from the Ritual Table in the Athenaeum.

Participate in Playlist Activities

Activities like Vanguard Strike and Crucible matches drop Opaque cards when you complete them. Vanguard Strike is a three-player mission that requires you to complete objectives and fight against bosses, while Crucible is a player-versus-player mode that can also drop weapons and armor, including new weapons added in Season of the Witch.
