Baldur’s Gate 3 – Best Feats for Wyll in BG3

For your warlock.

Wyll is a Human Warlock that can be recruited as a companion or used as an origin character in Baldur's Gate 3. When leveling Wyll up, there are a number of feats that will benefit him. I like to improve defense or grab feats that also improve ability scores, but you can also choose ones that mesh well with your party composition and playstyle. Overall, here are the best feats for Wyll in BG3.

FeatDescription
Ability Score ImprovementYou increase one Ability by 2, or two Abilities by 1, to a maximum of 20.
Defensive DuelistWhen attacked while wielding a Finesse Weapon you're Proficient with, you can use a reaction to add your Proficiency Bonus to your Armour Class, possibly causing the attack to miss.
Moderately ArmouredYou gain Armour Proficiency with Medium Armour and shields, and your Strength or Dexterity increases by 1, to a maximum of 20.
Magic Initiate: SorcererYou learn 2 Cantrips and a Level 1 spell from the sorcerer spell list. You can cast the Level 1 spell once per Long Rest. Your Spellcasting Ability for all three spells is Charisma.
Spell SniperYou learn a cantrip, and the number you need to roll a Critical Hit while attacking with a spell is reduced by 1. This effect can stack.
MobileYour movement speed increases, and difficult terrain doesn't slow you down when you Dash. If you move after making a melee attack, you don't provoke Opportunity Attacks from your target.

The best feat for Wyll is either an Ability Score Improvement or Spell Sniper. If you choose Ability Score Improvement, try to improve abilities that are at odd scores or improve one ability by two. Spell Sniper is one of the best feats for Wyll because his Eldtrich Blast will be able to crit more often.

Other feats that are beneficial to Wyll are Moderatley Armoured and Defensive Duelist. These feats will keep Wyll from getting hit as often, as his AC is usually pretty low. Moderately Armoured is great to increase his AC with armor. However, if you multiclass into a martial class, you will not need Moderately Armoured.

Another feat that can be great for Wyll is taking Magic Initiate: Sorcerer as an alternative to multiclassing into Sorcerer. You can grab Shield as your Level 1 spell, which is very helpful for causing attacks to miss against Wyll.

If you keep Wyll as a Bladelock, having Mobile is a great way to increase his mobility, allowing him to get around the battlefield more easily. Additionally, Wyll can make an attack and then run away, which will help him live longer since he is squishier than a Fighter, Barbarian, or Paladin.

If you build Wyll as a pure Warlock, you will unlock a feat at Levels 4, 8, and 12, so you will have access to three feat choices. If you grab a feat and discover you do not want or need it, you can always respec your character as well.
