Starfield is Bethesda's massive space RPG and comes jam-packed full of features. While the RPG gameplay and exploration are what I'm most excited about, I'm also excited to hear the audio, as I've always enjoyed the soundtracks in Bethesda games. However, I encountered an issue with Starfield's audio that prevented any sound from playing.
How to fix Starfield audio cutting out
Audio issues are incredibly annoying, as they keep you from enjoying the full Starfield experience. There are some solutions, but you may need to wait for a patch from Bethesda. In the meantime, try the following solutions to solve Starfield audio errors so you can get back to enjoying the delightful soundtrack of space.
- Confirm your Audio Output is the correct source.
- Try a different Output Source.
- Verify Starfield is installed on an SSD and not an HDD.
- Update your Audio Drivers.
- Uninstall and reinstall Starfield.

I recommend trying the first solutions listed above, as these are the easiest and may quickly solve the problem. If you have the correct output and another one does not work, you'll need to work down the list. The lower options may work but take more time, so use these if you continue to experience issues with Starfield.
Installing Starfield on an SSD rather than an HDD is important, as an HDD may cause various issues with Starfield, including audio ones. Updating your drivers is another important part of playing Starfield, especially considering the game's specifications. Lastly, I only recommend uninstalling and reinstalling as a last resort, as Starfield has a massive file size.
