Mods are an integral part of the Bethesda RPG experience, especially if you play on a PC like me. There are various mods that aim to improve the experience, add new content, or implement cosmetic upgrades, but to properly use a mod in Starfield, you'll need to install it.
Starfield mod installation instructions
The easiest way to install and use Starfield mods is through Nexus and the Vortex program; you will need a Nexus account to use Vortex, so ensure you've signed up for one. Vortex is the easiest method to install Starfield mods, but you need to download the program. If you don't want to, your other option is to manually download and install mods.

If you opt to manually download and install the mod, you'll need to pay attention to the mod's files, as as well any specific instructions on how to install the mod. A common method is to use ini files. Using this method means you need to create an ini file and place it in Starfield's folder (My Documents > My Games > Starfield). Once you locate the file, create a text document and then copy and paste the mod script into the file.
Once the ini file has been created and the script pasted into it, save the file and ensure it is in the Starfield folder. The mod will take effect the next time you launch Starfield. Keep in mind some mods are not compatible with one another, so you may break your game if you install too many mods. My favorite mod is the StarUI mod, as it fixes Starfield's annoying inventory management.
