How to deal with Grandma – Starfield

Is there a catch?

As I orbited Guniibuu looking for a Charred Ecosystem, I was hailed by a stranger who simply went by "Grandma." A kind-sounding old woman invited me to come over and enjoy a homecooked meal. I was immediately suspicious, saved my game, and initiated the docking sequence. But I was left with the fear I shouldn't have docked on Grandma's ship.

Despite how suspicious Grandma seemed, you should 100% dock with Grandma. She is a harmless and helpful NPC and poses no threat to you or your ship. At first, I couldn't find her, but after searching all three levels of her ship, I found Grandma in bed and was able to speak to her.

The major perk of docking with Grandma is you can take about anything in her ship. On the top level is the access to her cargo hold, where you can loot Credits and more. Scattered throughout the ship are homecooked meals, which can restore a good bit of health. Anytime you encounter Grandma, dock with her and see if you can get more loot.

What does Grandma do in Starfield?

Grandma is a random encounter in Starfield. She is traveling to the Settled Systems to explore the galaxy. You can talk with her and learn about her and her grandchildren. You can also donate Credits to her if you are feeling kind. Otherwise, her ship is a great place to pick up resources. I tried to fly her ship but did not have enough piloting skills to do so.
