The jetpack is an iconic piece of sci-fi tech, along with foil-like spacesuits and laser guns. In Starfield, jetpacks make traveling much easier, and I even find myself using them in combat. In this guide, I'll go over the best ways to use jetpacks in Starfield and how you can get one for yourself.
Using boost packs in Starfield, explained
To use a boost pack in Starfield, you must first spend at least one point in the Boost Pack Training skill. The first rank lets you utilize any boost packs attached to your spacesuit. To use a boost pack while jumping, press the jump button in mid-air to perform a boost.

Investing further into the Boost pack training will unlock more benefits, such as quicker boost regeneration, which shortens the cooldown time between boosts and longer boost times. I found the latter particularly useful during my Into the Unknown main mission run, where I used the boost pack to return fire to the spacers as I was descending further into the mineshaft.
How to use Jetpack in Starfield on Xbox
To use a jetpack in Starfield on Xbox, press the A button while in the air to activate the boosters. Otherwise, the mechanics work exactly the same as they are on the PC. Once you level your Boost pack training enough, you can hover in mid-air by pressing and holding the A button for a short while.
