Is Dota 2 down? How to check for Server Status

Stay in your lane servers.

Dota 2 is a competitive game that gets my adrenaline going, especially during a long and intense match. The game requires an online connection and relies on the servers to keep things running smoothly, which can lead to errors. Nothing makes me more upset than dropping a game due to server issues, so I like to check the Dota 2 server status before launching the game.

How to check Dota 2 Server Status

While there are many ways to check if the Dota 2 servers are down and the general server status, the one I find most reliable is steamstat.us. Here, you can check the status of both Steam and Dota 2. You can also select the Dota 2 Game Coordinator to get more in-depth information on the title. On the right are also region and city-specific servers, making this page one of the best ways to check the server status for Dota 2. Other ways to check the Dota 2 server status can be found below.

How to fix Dota 2 Server Status

If the servers are showing no issue, but you can still not play or connect to the Dota 2 servers, the issue may be on your end. If the servers for Steam or Dota 2 are down, you can do nothing. Try the following solutions for issues with being unable to connect despite the Dota 2 servers being up.

  • Restart your network connection.
  • Verify Dota 2 files.
    • Open Steam.
    • Go to your Library.
    • Right-click Dota 2.
    • Select Properties.
    • Select Installed Files.
    • Click Verify integrity of game files.
  • Restart your PC.
  • Uninstall and reinstall Dota 2.
