Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is to be the latest entry in the series, raising the stakes and seeing players taking on Makarov. Fans are understandably eager to get into the game, and news of the beta was met with a great reception, but left fans wondering if they needed to pre-order MW3 to get into the beta.
Do you have to preorder Modern Warfare 3 Beta (MW3) to play the beta?
You do not need to pre-order Modern Warfare 3 to participate in the beta. The beta for MW3 takes part in various stages, with the first parts being a closed beta and the final portion being an open beta. The open beta is available to those who did not pre-order and runs from October 14, 2023, through October 16, 2023. All platforms can play during the open beta.

However, without pre-ordering Modern Warfare 3, you have a much more limited time to play the beta. PlayStation users who pre-order have the most time, gaining access on October 6, 2023. Meanwhile PC and Xbox players who pre-ordered gain access to the MW3 beta on October 12, 2023. Only you can decide if pre-ordering is worth the extra time in the beta.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 releases on November 10, 2023, but the beta provides an early look at the game. Those who know they intend to play can pre-order and get in early, while those unsure can wait for the open beta period. Regardless of what you decide, I'll see you in the beta!
