How to unlock the Blowtorch in Pacific Drive

If you want your car to keep running as smoothly as possible, then you need to pack the best repair tools around. Here's how to unlock the Blowtorch in Pacific Drive and complete car repairs on the go quicker.

The Blowtorch is a repair tool which you can get through the Fabricator in the back room of Oppy's garage. You can find it under the Survival Tools tab. As you will see, this upgrade has a few pre-requisites:

  • Basic Workbench
  • Install the Scanning Antenna
  • Unstable Energy

In order to get Unstable Energy for the Fabricator to craft this blueprint, you will need to enter the mid zone. The junctions which will usually have Unstable Anchors are in the Scorch and the Mires. If the junction is affected by storm, it can have Corrupted Anchors instead, so be sure to check this out before selecting your route.

Once you have enough energy, you can unlock the Blueprint and then craft the Blowtorch at the Workbench. In order to do this, you will need materials:

  • Scrap Metal x6
  • Plastic x5
  • Glass Shards x4
  • Marsh Eggs x80

The most complicated part on this list for you will be getting Marsh Eggs, but you can prepare them in advance while you are getting the Energy for the Blueprint. Just remember to bring your Hand Vac for quicker collecting, and you should be good.

Once you have the materials, the Blowtorch is quite simple to use. Equip it and point it at the metal parts of the car to fix them. As you use it, the car part health bar will go up, while the usage bar of the Blowtorch will go down. You can also repair tires and side storages with this if you are in an emergency, but the repair time will be slower.
