Tips and advice for Unicorn Overlord

Talk to all characters

Every character in Unicorn Overlord can offer valuable items, whether directly or in the form of a quest reward. Explore every nook and cranny and make conversation with as many NPCs as possible, and you'll indeed receive lots of useful things to help you in your quest.

Enable Auto Run and Pause at Start of Stage

Auto-Run and Pause at Start of Battle should always stay on, as these two options save you time both when traversing the map and in battle. Here's how to enable them.

  1. Pause the game.
  2. Go to System.
  3. go to Options.
  4. Find the Auto-Run and Pause at Start of Battle option and switch them to On.

Don't rest units too often

It may be tempting to select your unit and press Rest to recharge their Stamina, but when resting, they'll be unable to move across the map. Zero Stamina will prevent you from attacking enemies, but you'll still be able to fight when attacked. Try to keep your unit's stamina at 3-4 at all times.

Choose your garrisons

Garrisoning units is an excellent way to heal them up, but you don't need to claim every garrison on your path to the enemy. Choose one army and go straight to the enemy, but keep an extra army a bit further back as a means of reinforcement.

Find the Black Trader

The Black Trader offers lots of exclusive items that are among the best in the game, including the Idealist's Handmirror for re-specializing your character. Black Market Traders are scattered across all regions in the game, and to unlock the first Trader, you'll need to complete at least 10 battles.

Afterwards, go to the Uprooting the Rock Rats battle in the South-East corner of the map, and walk North through the forest until you come across a hooded man. You'll only be able to find them at nighttime.

Do the first Delivery in every Harbor

Deliveries in Harbours yield honor and cash, but they're of little importance early on. Still, completing every first Delivery, particularly in harbors and towns with a dock, will allow you to sail a boat to another island. That's more areas for you to explore! These islands are also sometimes the locations for unit conversations/
