Lightyear Frontier - Merchant Landing Unlock Guide

To build a Merchant Landing in Lightyear Frontier, you'll need Stone, Aluminum Bars, and Red Crystals. The first resource is easy to find, but the other two require cleaning Pine Heights and upgrading Spike Saw to unlock. Once you gather all the resources, you can access the Build Menu and build a Merchant Landing.

Pine Heights is an area located northwest of the starting point, The Meadows. The area is contaminated with many Noxious Slimes, so you have to use your Irrigation Hose to wash away the slimes. Cleaning the slimes will fill the bar on the top of the screen, and you can refill your water tank using your Vacuum Harvester near any body of water. Once you clean all the slimes, the bar will fill out and disappear. However, to unlock the area, you need to go to sleep or wait until the next day.

You can upgrade the Spike Saw in Upgrade Depot. After you unlock Pine Heights, you'll gain access to Aluminum Rods. Now, you can build some advanced structures like Upgrade Depot, where you can improve your Mech. To build an Upgrade Depot, you need the following.

  • 10x Stone
  • 3x Aluminum Rod

After you build an Upgrade Depot, interact with it to dock your Mech, and you'll get out of it. Head to the command board and interact with it to gain access to the upgrades and customization. Select the Spike Saw upgrade to enable your harvesting tool to break crystals. Once you upgrade your Spike Saw, head out to Pine Heights and go right until you see shiny red stones. Break them with Spike Saw, and you'll get Red Crystals.

Now that all the needed resources are unlocked, you can proceed to harvest them. Two of the resources, namely Stone and Aluminum Bars, can be harvested using the primary form of Spike Saw. However, Red Crystals require the Spike Saw upgrade in the Upgrade Depot. To build a Merchant Landing, you need the following ingredients:

  • 3x Red Crystals
  • 4x Aluminum Rod
  • 5x Stone

Once you have gathered all the resources, access the Build menu and select the Essentials section. The third structure in the Essentials is the Merchant Landing. Just keep in mind that the Merchant Landing is a very big structure, so make room for it. Once you build it, wait for a merchant ship to arrive and trade resources, mech parts, and crops with Lola.
